Multi-location stock as a first-class concept
A part has stock at each location — yards, shops, service vans — not one global number. Transfers debit one location and credit the other in a single atomic transaction.
A full transaction ledger
Every PURCHASE_IN, WO_OUT, TRANSFER, ADJUSTMENT, and RETURN_TO_VENDOR is a row in the ledger with quantity, unit cost, actor, and reason. Reconciliation is a query, not an audit.
Low-stock + reorder alerts
Set min and max levels per (part, location). When stock crosses min, RigXy raises a notification and surfaces the part on the Low Stock dashboard.
Core-return tracking, automated
PURCHASE_IN of a core-return part auto-creates a CoreReturn record with a deadline. RigXy nags you before it expires; once you ship the core back, the deposit is reconciled in the ledger.
Used on a WO? Debited automatically
When a mechanic marks parts used inside a Work Order, completing the WO triggers a WO_OUT transaction that debits the right location’s stock — no double-entry required.
Per-transaction unit cost, weighted-average on hand
Different POs at different prices? We track the cost of every transaction and surface a weighted-average per location, ready for COGS reporting.

Receive parts into a location
PURCHASE_IN credits stock at the destination, captures unit cost, links the PO, and auto-creates a CoreReturn if the part has a core.
Use, transfer, or adjust as needed
Mechanics use parts inside WOs. Admins transfer between locations. Cycle counts post ADJUSTMENT transactions with a reason code.
Reconcile + report from the ledger
Every movement is queryable by part, location, actor, date range. Export to CSV for accounting; the ledger is the source of truth.
